Yes! Kurdish TTS, STT, and Voice Chat all offer generous free tiers. You can convert text to speech, transcribe audio to text, and have voice conversations with AI for free. Premium plans are available for users who need higher limits and additional features.
What Kurdish dialects are supported?
Sorani (Central Kurdish, written in Arabic script — کوردی) and Kurmanji (Northern Kurdish, written in Latin script — Kurdî) are supported across text-to-speech, speech-to-text, voice chat and dictation. Badini (Behdinî — بادینی) is supported for text-to-speech, with six dedicated voices. Badini is Northern Kurdish, the same language as Kurmanji, written in the Arabic script rather than the Latin one; we list it separately because it needs its own voices, not because it is a different language. Transcription, voice chat, dictation and translation do not cover it yet. Zazakî, Hawramî and Gorani are Kurdish too; the models do not support them yet, and we treat that as a capability gap to close, not a question of what counts as Kurdish.
Can I have voice conversations in Sorani Kurdish?

Is there a Kurdish text-to-speech API?
Yes. The Kurdish TTS API is a REST API: POST /api/tts-proxy for text-to-speech (WAV, Opus or MP3, with optional word timestamps), POST /api/tts-stream for streaming, POST /api/stt-proxy for speech-to-text, and GET /api/get-speakers for the public voice list. Can AI agents like Claude or Cursor use Kurdish TTS?
Yes. Kurdish TTS runs an MCP server at https://www.kurdishtts.com/api/mcp (Streamable HTTP). Connect it from Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Cursor and the agent gets six tools: synthesize_speech, transcribe_audio, start_streaming_transcription, list_voices, list_dialects and get_plan. Three of them — list_voices, list_dialects and get_plan — need no API key at all, so an agent can browse the voice catalog and the plan ladder before you sign up; speaking and transcribing use an API key sent as a Bearer token, billed against your plan exactly like the HTTP API. What do the plans cost, and what is free?
The Free plan includes 10,000 text-to-speech characters a month in the web app and 20,000 through the API, with no credit card. Paid plans are Creator $12/month, Developer $19/month, Pro $29/month and Business $99/month, and one subscription covers both the web app and the developer API; yearly billing saves 20%. Can I clone a Kurdish voice?
Yes. On kurdishtts.com/voice-clone you upload or record a short sample — 3 to 30 seconds, ideally 6–10 seconds of clear, continuous Sorani or Kurmanji speech — and get a custom voice for text-to-speech. Free accounts can create one clone and hear it read a fixed preview sentence. Creator (3 clones), Developer (10), Pro (20) and Business (30) can use their clones on the TTS page and through the API.
How many Kurdish voices are there?
891 voices, with male and female speakers in Sorani, Kurmanji and Badini — Badini has six of its own. All of them are rendered by one engine, V5; the API's model_version field only selects which speaker group an id belongs to: v3 (198 voices), v4 (664) or v5 (20 curated voices, the six Badini ones, plus 13 Cast and Studio voices on developer plans). Those catalogue figures overlap — a few ids appear in both the v4 and v5 listings — so they add up to more than the 891 distinct voices above.
